216 crore doses of Covid Vaccine will be Available between August-December, sufficient for all: Niti Aayog

New Delhi, 14th May. The Center on Thursday said that more than two billion doses of Covid19 Vaccine will be available in the country in five months between August and December. This will be sufficient to vaccinate the entire population. NITI Aayog member VK Paul also said that Russia’s anti-Covid-19 vaccine Sputnik V is likely to be available by next week.

Accepting the shortage of vaccines, Paul said that vaccines are important but it takes time to produce and provide them.” We are going through a phase when supply is limited. “That’s why we have set the priority,” he said in a briefing by the Ministry of Health. This is why when free vaccines were given by the Government of India; the main focus was on the at-risk age groups and we have to take care of it. ”

The official said that by the end of the year, there will be adequate vaccine doses for the entire population of the country to be vaccinated.

Paul said, “For the people of India and the country more than two billion doses will be made in the country in five months. The vaccine will be available to all. “He said that the number is likely to be three billion by the first quarter of next year.

He said that 216 crore doses of the vaccine are expected to be available from August to December, of which 75 million doses of Covishield would be included and 55 crore doses of Covaxin.

Biological E will provide 300 million doses, Zydus Cadila 5 crore, Serum Institute of India 200 million doses of Novavax and Bharat Biotech’s 10 million doses of its nasal vaccine, while Genova will provide 6 million doses and Sputnik V 15.6 million doses.

On vaccination campaigns in countries other than India, Paul cited examples from the US, Germany and France where the entire population has not yet received a single dose of the vaccine.The government has already stated that India is the fastest-growing vaccine nation in the world, having injected 170 million vaccine doses in 114 days.
