Zambian Parliamentary Delegation Calls on VP Dhankhar

New Delhi, 3rd Feb. A Parliamentary Delegation from Zambia led by Nelly Butete Kashumba Mutti, Speaker, National Assembly of Zambia called on the Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar at the Upa-Rashtrapati Nivas on Thursday.

The Vice President in his opening remarks highlighted the warm relations and historic cultural ties shared by the two countries.

He also underlined the shared connection and inspiration drawn by Zambian leadership from the Indian freedom movement.

During the talks, both leaders exchanged views on various issues including India’s G-20 presidency, declaration of 2023 as the International Year of Millets, strengthening political and economic ties between the two countries and United Nations reforms.

Welcoming the exchanges between the two Parliaments, the Vice President noted that such interactions are invaluable in sharing experiences & learning from each other’s best practices.

He said that such visits would generate greater impetus for increasing people-to-people contact between the two countries.

VP Dhankhar conveyed his best wishes for the peace, progress and prosperity of Zambia, and for the health and well-being of its citizens.
