YS Sharmila Files Nomination for Kadapa Lok Sabha Seat, Vows to Uphold Family Legacy

Y S Sharmila, the President of Andhra Pradesh Congress, officially submitted her nomination for the Kadapa Lok Sabha seat on Saturday.

Sharmila was joined by Sunitha Narreddy, her cousin and the daughter of Y S Vivekananda Reddy, who was tragically murdered before the 2019 elections.

Addressing a press conference, Sharmila stated, “I have filed my nomination as the Kadapa MP candidate. The people of Kadapa have not forgotten Y S Rajasekhar Reddy and Vivekananda. We hope that they will vote with them in mind this time.”

Prior to submitting her nomination, Sharmila paid her respects at her father Rajasekhar Reddy’s grave in Idupulupaya.

Running as the Congress candidate for the Kadapa Lok Sabha seat, she will be competing against her cousin Y S Avinash Reddy from the ruling YSRCP party led by her older brother and Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

The elections for the 25 Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh are set to take place on May 13.
