Women’s Kabaddi Selection Trials in Jammu from Jan 16 to 18
UT J&K to pick team for 72nd Senior National Kabaddi Championship from January 16–18

New Delhi, 13th Jan: Selection trials for the 72nd Senior National Kabaddi Championship in the women’s category will be held from January 16 to 18, 2026, at the Kabaddi Field, M.A. Stadium, Jammu, starting daily at 3:00 pm.
General Secretary of the J&K Amateur Kabaddi Association, Dr. Kuldeep Kumar Gupta, informed that the trials will be conducted to select the Union Territory team that will participate in the 72nd Senior National Kabaddi Championship, scheduled to be held at the Indoor Stadium, Telangana, from January 27 to 30, 2026.
Dr. Gupta said the eligibility weight criteria for women players is 75 kg and below, with no age restrictions. He has asked all affiliated district units and clubs of the UT to send their registered women players for the selection trials.
He further stated that all eligible players must bring two passport-size photographs, two photocopies of their Aadhaar card, a No Objection Certificate from parents, domicile certificate, medical fitness certificate issued by the CMO, and their Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India (AKFI) registration card.
Dr. Gupta clarified that players who are not registered with the AKFI will not be eligible to participate in the selection trials.
