Jhansi, 29th Oct:
In a shocking case of domestic violence from Uttar Pradesh’s Jhansi, a 26-year-old woman was allegedly thrown off the roof of a two-storey building by her husband and in-laws after she resisted his attempt to force himself on her.

The survivor, identified as Teeja, a resident of the Mau Ranipur police station area, told police that she married Mukesh Ahirwar in 2022 after meeting him at a temple. She said Ahirwar had promised to take care of her, but the relationship turned abusive after a year of marriage.

According to the complaint, Ahirwar frequently stayed away from home for long periods and assaulted her upon returning. On Monday, he allegedly beat and tried to force himself on her. When she resisted a similar assault on Tuesday, Ahirwar, with the help of his parents, allegedly threw her off the roof of their home.

Hearing her cries, neighbours rushed to her aid and took her to a nearby health centre. She was later referred to Jhansi Medical College, where doctors said her condition is stable.

Police officials confirmed that the survivor’s statement has been recorded and an inquiry is underway.

“The matter is under investigation, and action will be taken based on the findings,” said a senior police officer.

The case has sparked outrage in the local community, with residents demanding swift justice for the victim and strict action against the accused.
