Without Shivaji, My Name Would Have Been Kaleemuddin:Kailash Vijayvargiya
Kailash Vijayvargiya Sparks Discussion with Remark on Shivaji’s Role in Malwa’s History
Indore: Urban Administration Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya made a striking remark during a Shivaji Jayanti event in Indore, stating that if Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj had not existed, his own name would have been “Kaleemuddin” instead of Kailash. His statement has since sparked widespread discussion.
Speaking at an event near the Shivaji statue at Nehru Stadium, Vijayvargiya emphasized that the Malwa region was shielded from Mughal invasions due to Shivaji’s valiant efforts. He highlighted that while Mughals attacked various parts of the country and persecuted Hindu families, they could not penetrate Malwa and its surrounding areas due to Shivaji’s stronghold and the protection provided by the Maratha rulers.
The event saw the participation of several social and political organizations, along with prominent leaders who paid floral tributes to the statue of Shivaji Maharaj. Vijayvargiya also offered flowers at the statue of Shivaji’s mother. Among the attendees was BJP MLA Ramesh Mendola, who later joined a rally to mark the occasion.
