West Bengal, 25th Feb. Suvendu Adhikari, a BJP MLA from West Bengal and the Leader of the Opposition, attacked Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday, calling her a “cruel lady.” In addition, he said the West Bengal Chief Minister had filed 42 cases against him.
“Mamata Banerjee is no longer a “Didi”; instead, she is now referred to as a “aunty.” In the assembly elections in Nandigram, I beat her. She reported me in 42 cases. At a panel discussion on political violence in Bengal at Jawaharlal Nehru University, BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari referred to the speaker as “a cruel lady.”
Suvendu Adhikari, the Leader of the Opposition in West Bengal, had earlier said that Sheikh Shahjahan, the leader of the Trinamool Congress (TMC), was not going to be arrested by West Bengal police because he “controls votes.”
Because he controls the votes, Sheikh Shahjahan will not be arrested by Mamata Banerjee’s police. TMC will forfeit the Basirhat seat in the event that he is arrested. The bench hearing for CJI is scheduled for March 6. We’re hoping that the CBI will take up the case, and that Shahjahan will be behind bars in a day or two,” he stated.
The BJP leader also emphasized that the state government’s imposition of section 144 is intended solely to thwart BJP leaders. The NIA and CBI investigations ought to take place. They ought to act appropriately as quickly as feasible. West Bengalis everywhere, including those in Sandeshkhali, are waiting for it. Section 144 is imposed solely to prohibit MPs, MLAs, and leaders of the BJP. It’s against the law. It has political overtones. Section 144 is being used by the state government to conceal the internal situation, according to Adhikari.
He went on, “The Sandeshkhali incident is in front of the entire country because under the PM Modi-led government, the ED and other investigative agencies have the freedom to work.”
Suvendu further claimed that Sheikh Shahjahan, a member of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) since 2013, was a land mafia, engaged in bribe collecting, and sent twenty percent of his earnings to Kolkata via well-known North 24 Paraganas leaders Jyotipriya Mallick and Narayan Goswami.
Adhikari added that West Bengal currently has presidential rule, but he is not calling for the same.
“Aside from Jammu and Kashmir, the BJP has not imposed president’s rule anywhere in the past ten years. Our party wants to shift power by raising public awareness. Although the president is currently in charge of Bengal, as a BJP leader, I am not calling for it,” he continued.
Toughest measures ought to be implemented. The death penalty ought to be applied to Sheikh Shahjahan.
