West Bengal Law Minister Moloy Ghatak Refuses to Appear before ED in Delhi

New Delhi, 14th Sep. Senior Trinamool Congress (TMC) party leader and West Bengal Law Minister Moloy Ghatak will not appear before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Delhi today, on Tuesday, September 14, in the alleged coal smuggling case. Citing the reason behind this, he said that it is not possible for him to travel in such a short time. However, he has requested to appear before the ED through video conferencing or to conduct an inquiry in Kolkata.

The Enforcement Directorate had summoned West Bengal Law minister Moloy Ghatak on 14th September in an alleged coal smuggling case.

Earlier, when ED summoned Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s nephew and TMC General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee in this alleged coal smuggling case for the second time on September 8 after a one-time interrogation, he also informed on the same pretext. That he is unable to travel from Kolkata to Delhi in such a short time. After this, the ED has also sent a fresh summon to Abhishek Banerjee for questioning on September 21.
