VP Radhakrishnan Urges Youth to Lead Viksit Bharat
The Vice President bats for Indian languages, dialogue at Youth Parliament in Nagpur

Nagpur, 21st March: Vice-President C. P. Radhakrishnan on Saturday called upon the youth to lead India towards a “Viksit Bharat” by 2047, emphasising the importance of innovation rooted in Indian languages and culture.
Addressing the 29th National Session of the Indian Youth Parliament in Nagpur, he described such platforms as vital training grounds for leadership and nation-building.
Highlighting India’s linguistic diversity, the Vice-President said that speaking in one’s mother tongue is not being “regional” but being “original,” stressing that language is central to identity and innovation.
He noted that achieving the vision of a developed India cannot rely on borrowed ideas and must instead be driven by indigenous thinking and cultural confidence.
Referring to democratic values, Radhakrishnan said that differences of opinion should lead to constructive dialogue rather than conflict. Drawing from his experience in the Rajya Sabha, he added that improved productivity reflects a commitment to meaningful discussion.
Calling the youth the “Amrit Generation,” he expressed confidence that they would play a decisive role in shaping India’s future as a developed nation by 2047.
Earlier, the Vice-President paid floral tribute at the memorial of Keshav Baliram Hedgewar in Nagpur, acknowledging his contribution to national service.
The event saw participation from dignitaries including Maharashtra Governor Jishnu Dev Varma and several officials, along with youth representatives from across the country.
