Ranchi, 28th March: Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan on Saturday called upon management graduates to lead with integrity, purpose and social responsibility while addressing the 15th Annual Convocation of Indian Institute of Management Ranchi in Jharkhand.

Reflecting on his earlier tenure as Governor of Jharkhand, the Vice President said he has closely followed the institute’s growth and noted its steady progress over the years.

Emphasising the broader role of management education, he said it must extend beyond boardrooms and balance sheets to address real-world challenges and contribute to inclusive development.

“While case studies test analytical skills, real life demands decisions that impact livelihoods, trust and the larger social good,” he said, urging students to measure success not just by achievements but by the values guiding them.

Highlighting the importance of ethics in leadership, Radhakrishnan said integrity and trust form the foundation of strong institutions. He encouraged students to “choose character over shortcuts and purpose over profit” in their professional journeys.

Calling on the youth to align with the national vision of Viksit Bharat @2047, he advised them to “think global, act local” and ensure their contributions begin at the grassroots level.

Congratulating the graduating students, their families and faculty members, the Vice President wished them success and a meaningful life, reminding them that true success lies in giving back to society.

The convocation ceremony was attended by Santosh Kumar Gangwar, Harivansh, Sanjay Seth, Sudivya Kumar and other dignitaries.
