VP Radhakrishnan to Visit Tamil Nadu on Jan 2–3

VP Radhakrishnan to attend convocation, literary awards and cultural programmes in Chennai and Vellore

New Delhi, 2nd Jan: The Vice-President of India, C. P. Radhakrishnan, will undertake a two-day visit to Tamil Nadu on January 02 and 03, 2026, during which he will participate in a series of academic, literary and cultural programmes across Chennai and Vellore.

On Friday, January 02, the Vice-President will preside over the 34th Convocation of Dr. MGR Educational and Research Institute University in Chennai. Later in the day, he will attend the Ram Nath Goenka Sahitya Samman ceremony at Taj Coromandel.

In the evening, he will participate in a Public Reception at Kalaivanar Arangam, Chennai, followed by a Civic Reception hosted by the Governor of Tamil Nadu at Lok Bhavan.

On Saturday, January 03, Shri Radhakrishnan will attend the 50th Golden Jubilee Jayanthi Celebrations of Sri Sakthi Amma at the Vellore Golden Temple. In the afternoon, he will take part in the 9th Siddha Day Celebrations at Kalaivanar Arangam, Triplicane, Chennai.

The visit is aimed at strengthening the Vice-President’s engagement with educational, cultural and traditional institutions in the state.
