VP Radhakrishnan Praises Service and Spirituality at Sakthi Amma’s Golden Jubilee

Vellore, 3rd Jan: Vice President of India C. P. Radhakrishnan participated in the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of Sri Sakthi Amma at Sripuram, Vellore, marking 50 years of the spiritual leader’s service to society.
Addressing the gathering, the Vice President said that true spirituality lies not merely in rituals, but in love, compassion and service to fellow human beings. Quoting poet Subramania Bharati, he observed that love and service form the highest spiritual discipline.
VP Radhakrishnan lauded Sri Sakthi Amma’s extensive social service initiatives, including scholarships for students, drinking water supply in water-scarce areas, bicycle distribution to students and the daily annadanam programme that serves thousands.
He also praised the massive plantation drive at Sripuram, noting that over 50,000 trees within the campus and several lakh saplings on nearby Kailasagiri hills have been planted, calling environmental protection a form of divine service and a contribution to national conservation efforts.
Earlier, the Vice President offered prayers at the Sri Narayani Temple, praying for peace, prosperity and happiness for all.
