New Delhi, 7th Jan: Vice-President of India C. P. Radhakrishnan on Wednesday launched the book Sing, Dance and Lead: Leadership Lessons from the Life of Srila Prabhupada authored by Hindol Sengupta at a function held at the Vice-President’s Enclave in the national capital.

Addressing the gathering, the Vice-President described India as a civilisational leader whose traditions have consistently emphasised leadership rooted in values, service and inner discipline. He said the life and teachings of A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada exemplify leadership founded on purpose, humility and moral clarity.

He observed that Swami Prabhupada’s ideas are increasingly relevant in today’s rapidly transforming world and noted that the institutions he established continue to serve humanity across generations. Recalling the founding of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) in 1966, Radhakrishnan said its global success reflected leadership based on conviction, service and clarity of vision rather than authority.

Highlighting the book’s central theme, the Vice-President said it conveys the powerful idea that leadership can be joyful, participative and deeply human. He added that Swami Prabhupada led by inspiration, creating enduring institutions while remaining rooted in simplicity and devotion.

He also referred to the teachings of saint-poet Thiruvalluvar, underlining that leadership begins with clarity of thought and elevated inner vision, which must be translated into collective action. He said the book presents Swami Prabhupada’s life as a case study in ethical and transformational leadership, bridging history, philosophy and contemporary leadership thought.

Union Minister for Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, ISKCON Bangalore leaders Madhu Pandit Das and Chanchalapati Das, along with senior officials, scholars and invited guests, were present at the event.
