Mysuru, 25th March: Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan on Wednesday virtually inaugurated the International Academic Conference on “Ekatma Manav Darshan – Bharat’s Worldview” at Karnataka State Open University, Mysuru.

The conference, organised by Karnataka State Open University in association with Prajna Pravah and Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee Research Foundation, marks sixty years of the philosophy of Integral Humanism propounded by Deendayal Upadhyaya.

In his address, the Vice President emphasised that Integral Humanism continues to hold strong relevance in contemporary times, offering a holistic framework that connects the individual, society, nature and the universe.

He noted that in an era marked by divisions and growing stress, the philosophy provides a path of harmony rooted in Dharma, duty (Kartavya), and values such as truth, compassion and service.

Highlighting the importance of balanced development, Radhakrishnan said true progress must nurture the body, mind, intellect and soul while maintaining ecological balance.

Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of inclusive growth, he said the goal of Viksit Bharat by 2047 aligns with the principles of Integral Humanism and the idea of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.

Addressing the role of technology, the Vice President cautioned that rapid advancements must be guided by ethical considerations. He stressed that technology should serve human welfare and adhere to the principle of “Loka-Sangraha”.

Calling for practical implementation of these ideals, he urged policymakers, scholars and stakeholders to adopt the philosophy in governance and societal development to build a balanced and harmonious world.

The three-day conference is being held from March 25 to 27 in Mysuru.
