New Delhi, 25th Dec: Vice President of India C P Radhakrishnan on Wednesday participated as the chief guest at the Good Governance Day celebrations held at Siri Fort Auditorium in New Delhi to commemorate the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Addressing the gathering, the Vice President described Vajpayee as a visionary statesman, poet and dedicated servant of the people, whose unmatched oratory, humility and commitment to democratic values guided India through complex domestic and foreign policy challenges.
He said Vajpayee’s governance philosophy was rooted in transparency, accountability, inclusivity and service to all sections of society, forming the foundation of a strong and prosperous nation. He added that Vajpayee’s approach continues to inspire the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
Stressing that good governance is a shared responsibility, Radhakrishnan said governments, administrators, institutions, civil society and citizens must work together to ensure ethical and accountable governance. He urged participants to uphold these values in building a developed and resilient India.
A theatre production on Satyavadi Raja Harishchandra was staged during the event, symbolically linking Vajpayee’s life to ideals of truthfulness, integrity and selfless service.
The programme was organised by Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti along with the Heritage India Foundation. Union Minister of State Harsh Malhotra, Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta, Vice Chairman of Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti Vijay Goel and other dignitaries were present at the event.
