New Delhi, 19th March: Vice-President C. P. Radhakrishnan on Thursday inaugurated the Golden Jubilee Building of Modern School Vasant Vihar, marking 50 years of the institution’s contribution to education.

Congratulating the school on completing five decades, the Vice-President described the milestone as a reflection of sustained commitment to academic excellence, character building and nurturing young minds.

Highlighting the importance of early education, he said that while identifying talent at a young age is essential, it is equally important to shape individuals into responsible citizens. “Good individuals build a good society, and a good society builds a great nation,” he remarked.

The Vice-President also acknowledged the contributions of alumni, including those associated with JK Cement, towards the construction of the new building, stressing the importance of encouraging philanthropy and social responsibility.

Underscoring the role of education in nation-building, Radhakrishnan said institutions like Modern School are crucial in shaping the future of India. Referring to the vision of Viksit Bharat @ 2047, he noted that development must be inclusive and rooted in self-reliance and national dignity.

He pointed to infrastructure growth in the North-East as an example of balanced development across regions.

Emphasising the contribution of educators, the Vice-President said teachers play a vital role in building the character and confidence of students. He commended the dedication of the school’s faculty and staff, calling them the backbone of its success.

The event was attended by Justice (Retd.) Sanjay Kishan Kaul, Chairman of the Managing Committee, along with senior members of the school administration, faculty, students, parents and alumni.
