Violent Protesters Won’t be Able to Join Agnipath Scheme: Shobha Karandlaje

Mangaluru, 21st June. Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Shobha Karandlaje said on Monday that the youth who took part in the violent protests against the Agnipath project would not be able to join the armed forces.

Speaking to the media in Udupi, she said those who engage in violence are not patriotic. To successfully channel human resources, the Agnipath scheme was launched during the country’s platinum jubilee of independence.

Young people who are interested in the scheme can join with their parents’ permission. No one would be compelled to join the military.

Unnecessary controversy is being stoked over the Agnipath scheme and it is part of a conspiracy, Karandlaje alleged.
