Vijay Sinha Calls Lalu Yadav ‘Dhritarashtra’ Over Son Tejashwi

Patna, 8th Oct:
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Vijay Sinha has likened Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) founder Lalu Prasad Yadav to Dhritarashtra, the blind king from the Mahabharata, saying that Yadav’s unconditional affection for his son Tejashwi Yadav has made him lose sight of political reality.

“Lalu Yadav is at the final threshold of his life, but due to his love for his son, he has become Dhritarashtra. To register his presence in politics, Lalu Yadav keeps defaming Bihar and writing whatever he wants,” Sinha said.

The remark came after Lalu Yadav took a jibe at the NDA on social media following the Election Commission’s announcement of Bihar Assembly poll dates. Referring to the voting days — November 6 and 11 — Yadav posted on X, “6 aur 11, NDA nau do gyarah,” implying that the ruling alliance will be forced to flee after polling.

Sinha countered the statement, alleging that Lalu Yadav is trying to stay politically relevant by attacking Bihar’s progress and spreading negativity. “He continues to malign the image of the state just to be seen in political conversations,” the BJP leader said.

This is not the first time Vijay Sinha has invoked the Dhritarashtra analogy against the RJD patriarch. In an earlier instance, reacting to Yadav’s claim that Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeks “victory in Bihar” but will “give factories to Gujarat,” Sinha said, “Those who forced Biharis to migrate and ruined Bihar are now at their final stage. Like Dhritarashtra, blinded by affection for his sons, they are again trying to create unrest and disrupt social harmony. But Biharis will not tolerate it.”
