Pune, 6th Jan. Police have registered an offense against a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA for allegedly slapping a police constable who was on duty in Pune, according to authorities.
A video of the incident, which took place on Friday at Sassoon General Hospital in Pune, has surfaced on social media. In the video, Sunil Kamble, the legislator representing Pune Cantonment constituency, can be seen hitting the on-duty constable.

Following a complaint filed by the constable, Kamble has been charged under section 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) of the Indian Penal Code.
The incident occurred during a program at Sassoon General Hospital, where Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar was also present.
In the video, Kamble is seen descending the stairs after the event and slapping a man who obstructed his path. The man was an on-duty constable from Bundgarden police station, according to an official.
Kamble has denied the allegations, stating, “I did not assault anyone. I was coming down the steps when someone got in my way. I pushed him and continued.”
