Vice President Venkaiah Naidu Reaches Arunachal Pradesh, Played Badminton with Players at Raj Bhawan

Itanagar, 9th Oct. Vice President Venkaiah Naidu started his day by playing badminton with players from Arunachal Pradesh in Itanagar on Saturday. Naidu tweeted, “My day has a new beginning. Today played a great game of badminton with the budding badminton players of Arunachal Pradesh at Raj Bhavan in Itanagar. The Vice President, who is on a tour of the Northeast, has reached Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh yesterday.
Venkaiah Naidu interacted with the state achievers in different fields in Itanagar and presented them mementos. According to a release, during the first day of his visit, Naidu visited the Jawaharlal Nehru State Museum in Itanagar.
Naidu said that “Arunachal Pradesh, with its rich natural and cultural heritage, can be called a storehouse of handicrafts. Various tribes here have expertise in various crafts like weaving, painting, basketry, mask making, ivory, blacksmithing, doll making, pottery and carpentry and these have been passed down through generations.” He also said that there is a need to preserve the rich cultural heritage of the state.
During an interaction with writers, social activists and businessmen who have achieved in various fields, he said that children and young adults need to be mindful of the frequent use of digital devices and excessive dependence on the Internet. “It will kill creativity and original thinking,” the Vice President said.
He urged the celebrities in various fields to take the lead in educating the youth about various social evils like sexual harassment and drug addiction. The Vice President said that the youth should also be made aware of the adverse effects of climate change and the need to protect nature and water bodies.
The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Brigadier (Dr.) B. D. Mishra (Retd.), Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh Pema Khandu and others were present during this.
