Veteran Journalist Pradeep Sardana Honoured for 50 Glorious Years in Journalism

Celebrated journalist Pradeep Sardana was honoured on completing 50 years of distinguished service in journalism at a grand event held in Delhi. The ceremony, organised by Aadharshila—an association of writers, journalists, and artists—saw the presence of several eminent personalities from politics, arts, and media.

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari hailed Sardana, describing him as a journalist of unwavering principles, honesty, and perseverance.

“Many come and go, but some are remembered forever. Pradeep Sardana is one such stalwart. He has never compromised on his values or integrity. I salute his golden journey in journalism,” said Mr Gadkari.

He further remarked, “No storm or flood could shake Pradeep Sardana. He stood firm in every struggle, and we must all honour such dedicated and authentic journalists.”

The event was graced by Padma Vibhushan Sonal Mansingh, veteran journalist Sheela Jhunjhunwala, Union Minister of State Harsh Malhotra, former Union Minister Meenakshi Lekhi, MP Manoj Tiwari, veteran presenter Pratibha Advani, BJP media co-head Sanjay Mayukh, and Swadesh editor Atul Tare.

Union Minister Harsh Malhotra described Sardana as a living legend and the youngest editor in India, highlighting his contributions across print, electronic, and digital platforms.

“He is not just a journalist but also a creative writer who has contributed richly to literature and society,” Malhotra noted.

The ceremony featured special video messages from leading personalities, including Google Asia President Sanjay Gupta, legendary actress Mumtaz, actor Anupam KherDilip Joshi (of Taarak Mehta fame), singer Udit NarayanAnup JalotaSukhwinder Singh, poet Surendra Sharma, and actor-producer Dheeraj Kumar. The event was beautifully anchored by Stuti Sardana.

MP Manoj Tiwari praised Sardana’s personality alongside his writing, saying,

“It’s rare to see so many iconic personalities gathered in one place. His words and presence both carry weight.”

Padma Vibhushan Sonal Mansingh called him a “multi-talented gem,” while 99-year-old veteran journalist Sheela Jhunjhunwala shared,

“I’ve witnessed 44 of his 50-year journey. He is an inspiration to many.”

A commemorative pictorial book chronicling Pradeep Sardana’s five-decade-long journalistic journey was released on the occasion. The ceremony concluded with heartfelt tributes and felicitations from distinguished journalists, authors, artists, and institutions from across the country, making it a truly unforgettable celebration of journalistic excellence.
