Bhopal, 27th June. While Union Minister and former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan holds the record for the longest tenure as Chief Minister in Madhya Pradesh, a similar script has been written within the BJP organization. We are talking about BJP state president Vishnu Dutt Sharma. VD Sharma has set a record by continuously serving as the state president for over four years. Previously, no one in the BJP camp held such a record for continuous tenure as president.

At the national level, the BJP is set to have a new national president in the new year, 2025. However, if an acting president is chosen before then, it is believed that the acting president might become the permanent one. A past example illustrates this point.

Political analysts recall that when Amit Shah, while serving as the national president, became a Union Minister in Modi’s cabinet, JP Nadda was made the acting president. Later, he was declared the full-time president. Therefore, it is believed that the BJP will soon announce an acting president, and after that, JP Nadda will step down from the position of national president.

The BJP has almost finalized its organizational election plan, which will start with a membership drive and culminate in the selection of a full-time national president by the end of December. According to the BJP’s schedule, the membership drive will run from August 1 to September 15. Following that, an active membership drive will take place from September 16 to 30. Membership verification will be conducted from October 1 to 15. Elections for Mandal presidents will be held from November 1 to 15, followed by district president elections from November 16 to 30. State presidents and National Executive Committee members will be elected between December 1 and 15. The national president will be elected around December 15.
