Pauri, 18th August. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami and State Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri on Wednesday launched the ‘Agneepath Scheme’ in the state by lighting a torch.
The state’s ‘Agniveer’ recruitment process officially begins on August 19.
Chief Minister Dhami, Assembly Speaker Khanduri, and state cabinet ministers Ganesh Joshi and Rekha Arya also paid tribute to the country’s first chief defence chairman, the late General Bipin Rawat, in a grand ceremony held here.
Thousands of ex-servicemen and youths who came to participate in the Agniveer recruitment process were also present during this time. On this occasion, the families of the martyrs were also honoured.
Dhami, who referred to Uttarakhand as a “Veer Bhoomi,” said that the “Agneepath” Scheme would provide the nation with disciplined, patriotic youth who would lay the foundation for a new India.
He noted that this scheme would be extremely beneficial to the state’s youth who aspire to join the army.
According to the Chief Minister, the government has decided that youth serving in the army under the ‘Agneepath’ scheme will be given priority in government jobs after retirement. They will be given priority appointments in the police, fire, disaster management, and Chardham Yatra management services, for which the state government will soon issue rules.
During this, CM Dhami also inaugurated the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha’s ‘Modi Rasoi’ and fed food to the youth who had come to participate in the Agniveer recruitment.
State Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri said that being a soldier’s daughter, she is feeling honored on the occasion of the launch of ‘Agneepath’.
Khanduri stated that she is proud to be the daughter of a soldier on the occasion of the release of “Agneepath.”
At the Kotdwar Recruitment Center, 63,360 applicants from seven districts in the Garhwal division have signed up for the hiring process that will begin on August 19. The Kumaon region’s recruitment rally for the districts of Almora, Bageshwar, Nainital, and Udham Singh Nagar will take place in Ranikhet beginning on August 20 and for Champawat and Pithoragarh from September 5 to 12 in Pithoragarh.
