US Embassy Urges Americans to Consider Leaving Saudi Arabia

WASHINGTON – US Embassy in Riyadh on Monday has issued an updated security alert for American citizens on Monday emphasized that their safety is the highest priority for the US government.

President Donald Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and the Department of State are closely monitoring the situation and are actively providing guidance to ensure Americans in the region can make ‘informed’ safety decisions.

The officials statement said, “The U.S. government cares about your safety and will continue to share up-to-the-minute information you need to make informed decisions about your safety. The U.S. government is ready to help Americans leave the Middle East if you choose to take advantage of the options available.”

US State Department announced that it is coordinating options for Americans who wish to leave the Middle East. In addition to commercial flights, the Department is arranging government-coordinated flights for US citizens who have completed the Crisis Intake Form.

The Advisory sasd that travelers are urged to fill out the form if they have not already done so, to allow the Department to provide timely assistance and updates.

“For those already registered, there is no need to submit the form again. U.S. citizens in Saudi Arabia can also contact the State Department directly at 1-202-501-4444 for departure guidance and assistance, it added.

The embassy also emphasized that Americans who choose not to leave the country should be prepared to shelter in place in a secure location.

Residents are advised to maintain an adequate supply of food, water, medications, and other essential items in case of emergency.

The U.S. government reiterated its commitment to the safety of its citizens abroad and encouraged Americans to stay informed and follow official guidance.
