New Delhi, 3rd June: Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers inducted from various State Civil Services and currently undergoing the 127th Induction Training Programme at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), called on President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Tuesday.
In her address, the President commended the officers for their service at the grassroots level and acknowledged their crucial role in local development. She highlighted that their responsibilities would now expand in scope and complexity as they transition to the national administrative framework.
“You are no longer administrators of just a region—you must now uphold governance standards at the national level,” she said, urging them to align their work with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, a roadmap to transforming India into a developed nation.
The President stressed the importance of inclusive development, stating that the officers’ efforts should ensure that marginalized and weaker sections are not left behind.
“When the poor and deprived experience prosperity, only then will we come closer to realizing the goal of a developed nation,” she added.
Highlighting the transformative potential of technology and innovation, President Murmu encouraged the use of digital tools, artificial intelligence, and e-governance systems to promote efficient and transparent administration. She urged officers to adopt digital feedback mechanisms to ensure last-mile delivery of government schemes.
She also reminded the officers of the core values of the Indian Administrative Service:
“Never lose sight of integrity, transparency, and accountability. Exercise your authority with empathy, fairness, and impartiality.”
