‘Uphaar Nahi, Upkaar’: Shivraj Chouhan Launches Welfare Initiatives on Birthday

Free coaching, mobile hospitals and student awards announced for Vidisha

Bhopal, 6th March: Shivraj Singh Chouhan celebrated his birthday on Thursday as ‘Prem Aur Seva Sankalp Diwas’ and announced five major public welfare initiatives for his parliamentary constituency, Vidisha.

Marking the occasion, Chouhan planted saplings with his family at Smart City Park in Bhopal and urged supporters not to present flowers, garlands or banners. Instead, he appealed to people to plant trees under the message ‘Uphaar Nahi, Upkaar’.

Responding to the appeal, thousands of well-wishers and party workers across the country planted saplings and shared photographs on social media.

Birthday greetings were extended by several leaders, including Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh and Nitin Gadkari, along with other senior leaders.

‘Prem-Sundar Pratibha Samman’ for students
Chouhan announced the launch of ‘Prem-Sundar Pratibha Samman’ in memory of his parents to honour meritorious students.

Under the initiative, top-performing students in Classes 10 and 12 from the eight Assembly segments of the Vidisha Lok Sabha constituency will be felicitated with cash awards of ₹51,000, ₹31,000 and ₹21,000. The top three students across the entire constituency will also receive special awards.

‘Mama Coaching Classes’ for youth
To support youth preparing for competitive examinations, Chouhan announced the launch of ‘Mama Coaching Classes’.

The programme will begin in Vidisha, Raisen and Bhairunda and will provide free coaching for examinations such as Banking, SSC, MPPSC, DRDO and Forest Services. Students will receive guidance from experienced teachers, study material and career counselling.

‘Mama Mobile Hospital’ for rural healthcare
Chouhan also announced the ‘Mama Mobile Hospital’ initiative to improve healthcare access in rural areas.

Mobile medical units will travel to villages and remote areas across the eight Assembly segments of Vidisha, offering free consultation, treatment and diagnostic services with the support of qualified doctors.

Support for Divyang citizens
The Union Minister also announced a campaign to distribute motorised tricycles to Divyang citizens in the Vidisha region to help them move independently and perform daily activities with dignity.

Call for social harmony
Chouhan urged citizens to promote social harmony, family unity and responsible citizenship. He also encouraged people to support Swadeshi products and follow road safety rules.

Highlighting the importance of environmental protection, he said trees are the foundation of life and described them as “oxygen factories” that sustain human life and biodiversity while helping regulate the Earth’s climate.
