UP: Allahabad HC Dismisses Petition Against CM Yogi

GG News Bureau

Prayagraj, 30th Sept. The Allahabad High Court dismissed a petition seeking the registration of a complaint against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for his “objectionable” speech during the 2018 Rajasthan Assembly elections in Alwar.

While dismissing the petition, Justice Samit Gopal stated that this court has no jurisdiction to hear the matter and imposed a fee of Rs 5,000 on the petitioner, Naval Kishor Sharma of Mau district.

Sharma claims that Adityanath’s speech during the election campaign in Rajasthan’s Alwar district on November 23, 2018 hurt his religious sentiments.

He had previously filed the plea with the Mau district court, which had rejected it.

Then he filed a revision petition with the sessions court, which dismissed it as well on the basis of territorial jurisdiction.
