Patna, 12th August. A verbal spat erupted between Union Minister Giriraj Singh and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav on Friday over the RJD leader’s earlier election promise of 10 lakh jobs.
Singh shared a video clip of Yadav speaking about creating tens of thousands of jobs for Bihar’s young people. This resulted in an argument between the two on the social media platform.
The fiery BJP leader has been tweeting furiously since his party was ousted from power in his home state.
In the video clip, Yadav is heard saying, “I had made the promise of providing 10 lakh jobs upon becoming the CM. Currently, I am the deputy CM.”
Yadav, who is very active on the micro-blogging site, responded by posting a longer clip of the same interview, along with some scathing remarks directed at the Begusarai MP.
The deputy chief minister of Bihar has stated that the state’s newly formed government will “deliver” on the promise of providing 10 lakh jobs that he made while leading the RJD’s campaign during the 2020 assembly elections.
In the clip, the words spoken by Tejashwi Yadav quoted above are followed by but I have discussed the matter with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar who has taken it very seriously. We will deliver on the promise of job creation. Let us first win the trust vote.
In a dig at the Union minister’s physical appearance, Yadav also wrote on Twitter, “Don’t be so shameless. No one becomes knowledgeable just by keeping a one-foot-long braid”.
“Top leaders of Bihar’s secular government have begun attacking Hindu religious symbols,” Singh responded.
Yadav responded to Singh by saying that the BJP could not save face in Bihar because of its “cheap tactics.”
The BJP has suffered as a result of your chirkut (petty) actions and sadak chhap (cheap) public statements, the RJD leader said.
Union minister Giriraj Singh also said, the “son of a fodder thief” cannot become a saint.
He was referring to the fodder scam cases in which Yadav’s father, RJD chief Lalu Prasad, was found guilty.
Yadav is currently in Delhi with his parents and his sisters to celebrate Rakshabandhan, and will return to Bihar soon for the cabinet expansion expected immediately after Independence Day, which will be followed later this month by a special session of the assembly where the new government will prove its majority on the floor.
The RJD heir apparent is also expected to bring a list of leaders who will be inducted into the cabinet that has been formally approved by his father, Lalu Prasad.
