Trump warns Gaza military action as ceasefire falters; VP pushes peace in Israel

WASHINGTON – US President Donald Trump on Tuesday has issued a stern warning that Middle Eastern nations could deploy troops with “heavy force” into Gaza to “straighten out Hamas” if the militant group violates the fragile ceasefire agreement currently in place.
Trump emphasized on his social media platform Truth Social that several allies in the region have expressed readiness to intervene militarily at his request, though he remains hopeful that Hamas will uphold the truce.
“Numerous of our NOW GREAT ALLIES in the Middle East, and areas surrounding the Middle East, have explicitly and strongly, with great enthusiasm, informed me that they would welcome the opportunity, at my request, to go into GAZA with a heavy force and ‘straighten our Hamas’ if Hamas continues to act badly, in violation of their agreement with us,” Trump stated.
The ceasefire came into effect on October 10 as part of a US-backed plan to end the war in Gaza has seen some progress, including the release of several hostages and detainees. The flare-ups of violence threaten to undermine the truce, raising concerns about the conflict reigniting.
US Vice-President JD Vance has arrived in Israel to support diplomatic efforts aimed at solidifying the ceasefire and advancing negotiations for a long-term peace settlement.
Vance is scheduled to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to encourage the start of talks addressing the core issues for a permanent end to hostilities.
The media reports indicated that most Middle Eastern countries remain cautious about sending troops into Gaza, wary of direct conflict with Hamas while attempted to stabilize the area, despite President Trump’s claims.
Indonesia has publicly expressed willingness to contribute forces to a UN-mandated international peacekeeping mission, with Turkey and Azerbaijan showing private interest.
Trump praised the spirit of cooperation from regional allies, describing it as unprecedented “The love and spirit for the Middle East has not been seen like this in a thousand years! It is a beautiful thing to behold!”
He added, “I told these countries, and Israel, ‘NOT YET!’ There is still hope that Hamas will do what is right.” However, he warned that if Hamas breaches the truce, the US and its allies stand ready for a “FAST, FURIOUS, & BRUTAL” response.
According to media reports the coming days will be crucial in determining whether the ceasefire can hold and if sustained negotiations can pave the way for lasting peace in the region.
Trump administration’s diplomatic initiative, highlighted by Vice President Vance’s visit, underscores the urgency of resolving the conflict amid ongoing volatility.
