WASHINGTON – US President Donald Trump on Tuesday set out a deadline of 3-4 days for Hamas to accept the White House’s 20-point Gaza peace deal and warned the Palestinian militant group of a “very sad end” if it did not agree to the terms.
Trump said that if Hamas rejects the deal, he will support Israel to “do what they have to do, and they could do it pretty easily”.
“Hamas is either going to be doing it or not, and if it’s not, it’s going to be a very sad end,” he said, adding, “we’re just waiting for Hamas”.
Hamas has not yet responded to the White House peace plan for Gaza but according to Qatar, the group is studying it, media reported.
Trump was speaking to reporters at the White House, said that if Hamas rejects the deal, he will allow Israel to “do what they have to do, and they could do it pretty easily”.
He asserted that Israel has killed Hamas leadership “three different times”, and it’s going to be a “very sad end” if his peace deal is rejected.
Gaza Strip will be “de radicalized” and redeveloped as part of the peace plan.
It stated that if both parties accept the terms, the war in Gaza will come to an immediate end.
The plan will also see Israel withdrawing its troops to the agreed upon line, and suspend all military operations, including aerial and artillery bombardment.
Hamas will have to release all the surviving hostages and return the remains of the deceased within 72 hours of Israel publicly accepting the terms of the peace deal.

Israel will release 250 Palestinian prisoners facing life sentences in exchange.
Over 1,700 Gazans who were arrested by Israel after the October 7, 2023 attack, will also be freed.
Trump and Netanyahu vowed to finish the job of destroying Hamas if the Palestinian militant organization doesn’t agree to the plan.
