Trump cites ‘pollsters theory for Republicans’ loss in latest polls ‘Trump not being on ballot’

WASHINGTON – us President Donald Trump on Wednesday wrote on Truth Social stated that pollsters have attributed the Republican Party’s losses in the latest elections to two key factors: President Donald Trump not being on the ballot and the negative fallout from the recent government shutdown.

Democrats swept elections in Virginia, New Jersey and New York, United States President Donald Trump cited two main reasons for the loss of Republicans.

In New York City, Zohran Mamdani has been elected as the new Mayor, according to Decision Desk HQ.

Mamdani’s historic victory signals a major shift in the city’s political landscape.

Mamdani’s win is being lauded as one of the most remarkable political upsets in recent years, coming after he defeated former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo who contested as an independent after losing to Mamdani in the Democratic primary and Republican Curtis Sliwa in the race to succeed Mayor Eric Adams.

Indian-American Democrat Ghazala Hashmi has been elected as Virginia’s Lieutenant Governor, defeated Republican John Reid.

Hashmi, made history as the first Muslim and first South Asian American in the Virginia Senate, will now vacate her Senate seat, which will be filled through a special election.

In New Jersey, Democrat Mikie Sherrill secured victory in the governor’s race, defeating Trump-backed Republican Jack Ciattarelli.

Her win marks the first time since the 1960s that Democrats have won three consecutive gubernatorial terms in the state.

In Virginia, Democrat Abigail Spanberger also made history by becoming the first woman to be elected Governor of the Commonwealth, ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.
