“Tribal Upliftment a Priority of Modi Govt”: Amit Shah to Students
Amit Shah Interacts with Tribal Students, Highlights Modi Govt’s Education Initiatives
New Delhi- Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah interacted with students from rural and tribal communities at Gujarat Bhavan, New Delhi, on Friday. The event aimed to inspire and motivate the students, providing them an opportunity to engage directly with the minister.
Shah emphasized that the upliftment of the tribal community is a priority for the Modi government, highlighting initiatives such as Eklavya Model Residential Schools, which are being set up in blocks with over 50% Scheduled Tribe (ST) population and at least 20,000 tribals.
He pointed out that for six decades after independence, India had only one central tribal university, but the Modi government has established two new tribal universities in the last decade.
Recognizing language as a barrier for tribal students in higher education, Shah said the government has provided the option of taking medical, engineering, and technical exams in regional languages.
Encouraging students to contribute to nation-building, he urged them to pursue careers in medicine, engineering, and civil services, stressing that their success would play a key role in making India a leading global nation.
The students also shared their aspirations and received guidance from the Home Minister, who reaffirmed the government’s commitment to empowering tribal youth through education and skill development.
