Jammu, 9th June: The Jammu & Kashmir Amateur Kabaddi Association has announced that the final trial-cum-coaching camp for selecting the Under-18 Boys and Girls Kabaddi teams for the upcoming Youth National Championship will be held from June 10 to 12, 2025 at the Kabaddi Stadium in Jammu. The sessions will be conducted in both morning and evening slots.

According to Kuldeep Kumar Gupta, General Secretary of the Association, the purpose of the camp is to identify and prepare the best young talent from the Union Territory to represent the region at the Youth Kabaddi National Championship, which is scheduled to be held in Haridwar from June 28 to July 1, 2025.

On the opening day of the camp, age and weight verification, along with document screening for both boys and girls, will be conducted under the supervision of Technical Director S.S. Gill and the selection committee.

The eligibility criteria for participation include an age limit of above 15 years and below 18 years—players must be born between January 1, 2008, and December 31, 2010, which would make them between 15 to just under 18 years of age as of December 31, 2025. Additionally, the weight categories are capped at 70 kg for boys and 65 kg for girls.

All affiliated districts and kabaddi clubs in Jammu and Kashmir have been instructed to send their most eligible players to the camp. Players must carry two passport-sized photographs, photocopies of Aadhar Card, AKFI registration card, domicile certificate, and a medical fitness certificate issued by an authorised doctor. Children of Central Government employees or personnel from armed/belt forces must also bring relevant documents for verification.

Gupta emphasized that only players who are registered with the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India (AKFI) will be allowed to participate in the trials. He concluded by reiterating the association’s commitment to nurturing grassroots talent and ensuring merit-based selections for national-level participation.
