New Delhi, 12th June: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday expressed his profound grief and shock over the devastating Air India flight crash that occurred in Ahmedabad. He stated that the tragedy has “stunned and saddened” the nation, describing it as “heartbreaking beyond words.”
In a statement released by PIB Delhi at 4:15 PM, the Prime Minister confirmed that he has been in continuous communication with relevant Ministers and authorities to ensure swift and effective assistance is provided to all those impacted by the incident.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Prime Minister Modi wrote, “The tragedy in Ahmedabad has stunned and saddened us. It is heartbreaking beyond words. In this sad hour, my thoughts are with everyone affected by it. Have been in touch with Ministers and authorities who are working to assist those affected.”
The Prime Minister’s message comes as rescue and relief operations are in full swing following the crash of Air India Flight AI-171, which claimed numerous lives and caused extensive damage after hitting a medical college hostel building shortly after takeoff.
