Ayodhya, 25th Nov: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today hoisted the saffron Dharma Dhwaja atop the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya, marking a historic milestone in India’s cultural and spiritual landscape. Addressing thousands of devotees during the Dhwajarohan Utsav, the Prime Minister said that the entire nation and the world are “filled with the spirit of Lord Shri Ram”.

He described the moment as the culmination of a centuries-long resolve. “Centuries-old wounds are healing, centuries of pain are ending, and a 500-year yajna is reaching fulfillment,” he said, adding that the divine energy of Lord Ram now stands enshrined in the form of the Dharma Dhwaja.

Calling the saffron flag “the flag of the renaissance of Indian civilization”, the Prime Minister said its symbols — the Solar dynasty emblem, the sacred Om, and the Kovidar tree — represent the ideals of Ram Rajya. He said the flag reflects resolve, struggle, dreams carried for generations, and the devotion of millions of Indians.

Modi said the Dharma Dhwaja would remind future generations that victory belongs to truth. “It will inspire society to build a nation free from discrimination, poverty, and suffering,” he noted, while congratulating devotees and acknowledging workers, artisans, planners and architects who contributed to the construction of the temple.

The Prime Minister described Ayodhya as “the land where ideals transform into conduct”, recalling how Ram returned from exile as Maryada Purushottam because of the collective strength, guidance, and devotion of sages, friends, and devotees. He highlighted the seven newly built temples in the complex — including those dedicated to Mata Shabari and Nishadraj — calling them symbols of friendship, duty, and social harmony.

“Our Ram connects not through differences but through emotions,” he said, adding that in the last 11 years every section of society — women, Dalits, tribals, farmers, workers and youth — has been placed at the center of development.

Modi emphasized that building a developed India by 2047 will require awakening the values of Ram within each citizen. “Ram is not just a person; Ram is a value, a discipline, a direction,” he said, urging the nation to think for centuries ahead rather than living only in the present.

He also called for freeing India from the “mentality of slavery” in the next ten years, recalling the impact of Macaulay’s ideas on India’s education and cultural foundations. Stressing that democracy is “in India’s DNA”, he cited historical examples like the Uttiramerur inscription in Tamil Nadu and Basavanna’s Anubhava Mantapa to underline India’s deep democratic roots.

The Prime Minister said that removing colonial symbols, such as those earlier carried by the Indian Navy, reflects a larger transformation in national mindset — one that will now define its strength through its own heritage.

He described the resurgence of Ayodhya as a symbol of India’s revival. “In Treta Yuga, Ayodhya gave the world its code of conduct. In the 21st century, Ayodhya is giving the world a new model of development,” he said, referring to modern infrastructure such as the grand airport, railway station, and improved connectivity through Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat trains.

Modi noted that nearly 45 crore devotees have visited Ayodhya since the Pran Pratishtha, boosting local income and turning Ayodhya into one of Uttar Pradesh’s rising cities.

He said India’s rapid economic ascent — from 11th to 5th largest economy in 11 years — reflects its growing potential, and asserted that the nation will soon become the world’s third largest economy. Drawing from the metaphor of Lord Ram’s chariot, he said the journey toward Viksit Bharat requires wheels of valor and patience, a flag of truth, and reins of compassion and equality.

The Prime Minister concluded that the nation must always place national interest above self-interest to build a Bharat inspired by Ram Rajya.

Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat were among the dignitaries present at the ceremony.
