Mamata Banerjee to lead push as party eyes expansion in Northeast

Kolkata/Guwahati, 20th March: The Trinamool Congress on Friday announced its list of 18 star campaigners for the upcoming Assam Assembly elections, signalling an intensified push to expand its presence in the Northeast.
The list is led by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who is expected to play a key role in mobilising support for the party. She will be joined by the party’s national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee.
