TMC MP Dev Resigns from Panels of Three Bengal Govt Bodies Ahead of LS elections

Actor-turned-TMC MP Dipak Adhikary, also known as Dev, has resigned from committees of three state-run bodies in his constituency, raising speculation about his participation in the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Adhikary, who represents Ghatal, stepped down from his posts without providing a reason. He resigned from the Ghatal Super Speciality Hospital Patient Welfare Committee, Birsingha Unnayan Parishad, and the Ghatal Rabindra Centenary College governing committee.

While he has not made a statement, his resignation has sparked speculation about his future plans.TMC leader Firhad Hakim assured that Dev remains a part of the party and will follow the instructions of the top leadership for the upcoming elections.

TMC youth wing state president Sayani Ghosh explained that Dev resigned from the committees to avoid any issues related to holding office for profit during the elections.

BJP state president Sukanta Majumdar suggested that Dev’s resignation indicates his realization of the TMC’s involvement in scams. Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari hinted at more developments in the lead-up to the Lok Sabha polls.

Dev first entered the Lok Sabha in 2014, defeating the CPI candidate, and won re-election in 2019 by defeating the BJP candidate.
