The world has seen several cold wars in recent years. Several conflicts have recently erupted around the world, whether between the United States and Russia, the United States and China, or other major powers.
Every other world power appears to be flexing their muscles more than ever in order to wield power. China is threatening Taiwan, Russia has already launched an invasion of Ukraine, North Korea has been testing missiles to frighten the United States, Japan, and South Korea, and so on.
Most conflicts appear to be the result of muscle flexing and can be easily resolved through discussions and talks. Is anyone willing to listen?
To protect or counteract, the world has formed various alliances such as NATO, Quad, Aukus, and others. The million-dollar question is whether it is resolving the issue or simply fueling hatred or misinformation.
The Russian invasion of Ukraine is one of the best examples of how flexing muscles can lead to war. More wars may erupt in the future as efforts are made to incite rage rather than reduce animosity among nations.
Russia, North Korea, and other countries have been testing or acquiring new weapons to protect themselves. However, it appears to have been futile, as it forces contemporaries to come up with better ones to simply do the same.
The process appears to be never-ending, as the world witnessed during the cold war between the United States and the former Soviet Union.
It will be interesting to see if the various world powers can learn to live and prosper in peace by joining hands rather than flexing their muscles. This can actually aid in the prevention of an arms race and wars.
