The Defence Minister Rajnath Singh dedicates 63 bridges and strategically important roads constructed by BRO from Leh to the nation

Union Defence minister Rajnath Singh today inaugurated six bridges on roads leading to China border in Uttarakhand from Leh said, chief engineer BRO MNV prasad.
The Chief Minister, Shri Tirath Singh Rawat, participated virtually during the inauguration of the bridges constructed by BRO in remote areas.
The Defence Minister Rajnath Singh dedicated to the nation by inaugurating 63 bridges and strategically important roads constructed by BRO from Leh. A total of 06 bridges were dedicated in Uttarakhand at a cost of Rs. 1928.74 lakh. Addressing the gathering, The Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh said that it is strategically important to provide connectivity by constructing bridges, roads in difficult areas of the country. He congratulated BRO on construction of bridges, roads in difficult areas and appreciated the work done. The Defence Minister said that bridges and roads accelerate the development of the country and roads are particularly important in terms of development, tourism as well as defence of the country. He said that we are moving fast in building a prosperous country.
Chief Minister Shri Tirath Singh Rawat participated in the dedication programme from Ramnagar. He said 06 bridges have been dedicated in the state. Rani Bridge cost 348.12 lakh on Joshimath-Malar Road in Uttarakhand, Khadi bridge cost 513.00 lakh on Rishikesh-Dharasu road, Kurkutiya Bridge cost 142.00 lakh on Jauljibi-Munsyari Road, Junaligarh Bridge cost 649.62 lakh on Jauljibi-Munsyari road, Juntigarh Bridge cost 156.00 lakh on Tawaghat-Ghatiabagagarh road and Laspa Bridge cost on Munsyari-Bagdiar-Milan road were covered with bridges worth Rs 120.00 lakh.

He said that the bridge road construction in difficult areas is strategically important. BRO has constructed bridges in difficult areas day and night in cold and snowfall. He said the construction of these bridges will greatly facilitate the regional people as well as military activities.
According to the engineers the bridges are 140, 180 and 140 feet long respectively and have been constructed by combined efforts of 1447 Bridge construction company and 765 task forces of BRO.” The construction material the bridges at High altitude border roads were brought in by helicopters while the workers and engineers of BRO worked in adverse conditions to complete the task in time,” said the chief engineer of the project.
According to the project engineer, with commissioning of three vital bailey bridge on these border roads, residents, tourists and security forces will benefit from it connectivity will ease at Indo-China Border in this part of Himalaya.
