London, 19th Sept: TESLA Group a.s., a global leader in battery energy storage systems, and multinational conglomerate SRAM & MRAM Group have announced a multi-billion-dollar agreement to establish 20 giga factories worldwide, including seven in India.

The landmark partnership aims to create one of the world’s largest integrated battery manufacturing and storage networks for electric vehicles and renewable energy systems, supporting the Paris Climate Accord target to limit global warming to 1.5°C.

The giga factories—each spread across 500 acres and capable of generating up to 100,000 jobs—will be set up in India, the US, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific. Indian sites include Maharashtra, Telangana, Gujarat, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand. Other locations include Texas and Florida (USA), Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria, Kuala Lumpur, Oman, Brazil, UAE, Cambodia, Nigeria and Sydney.

SRAM & MRAM Group will handle approvals, incentives and local partnerships, while TESLA Group a.s. will manage design, engineering and construction.

“This partnership is a monumental step toward a sustainable energy future,” said Nanda K. Bhagi, President of TESLA Group a.s. “We are building not just factories, but vibrant ecosystems that will shape the future of clean energy.”

Dr. Sailesh L. Hiranandani, Chairman of SRAM & MRAM Group, added, “Our global expertise will accelerate innovation in renewable energy and biotechnology, creating jobs and economic growth across 20 nations.”

The seven Indian giga factories are expected to significantly advance the country’s Net Zero 2070 target and strengthen its position as a global hub for clean energy innovation.
