Ahmedabad, 25th Aug: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated, laid the foundation stone, and dedicated development works worth ₹5,400 crore in Ahmedabad. The projects cover various sectors, including urban development, energy, roads, and railways, aimed at boosting Gujarat’s infrastructure.
In his address, the Prime Minister used the analogy of “Sudarshan Chakradhari Mohan” (Lord Krishna) and “Charkhadhari Mohan” (Mahatma Gandhi) to explain his government’s philosophy. He stated that like Krishna, India today is strong and secure, and “does not spare terrorists or their masters, regardless of where they hide.” He also invoked Gandhi’s legacy of “Swadeshi,” criticizing previous governments for making India dependent on imports.
PM Modi highlighted Gujarat’s transformation into a manufacturing powerhouse, mentioning the production of electric locomotives, metro coaches, and vehicles. He also said that the state is poised to become a major hub for semiconductors and clean energy. Citing Ahmedabad’s progress, he noted its emergence as a clean, safe, and modern city with improved infrastructure like the Sabarmati Riverfront.
The Prime Minister also announced a focus on empowering the “neo-middle class” and the middle class, mentioning that annual income up to ₹12 lakh has been made tax-free. He stated that his government would not allow harm to come to small entrepreneurs, farmers, or street vendors, citing the success of the PM SVANidhi scheme. He also announced that reforms to the GST system will support small businesses and reduce taxes on many items.
Concluding his speech, the Prime Minister urged citizens to make all their festive season purchases, gifts, and decorations “Made in India.” He stated that this commitment to self-reliance will make the festivals a grand celebration of India’s prosperity.
