Hyderabad, 18th May. Telugu television actor Chandrakanth, renowned for his roles in daily soaps, has passed away. The actor was found dead at his residence in Alkapur, Telangana, on Friday, reportedly due to suicide. This heartbreaking news follows closely on the heels of the untimely demise of his co-star and close friend Pavithra Jayaram, who died in a car accident a few days earlier.
According to statements provided by Chandrakanth’s father to the police, the actor had been grappling with depression for the past couple of days. He was deeply affected by Pavithra’s loss and had been mourning her departure intensely. Chandrakanth had expressed his grief through emotional tributes to his ‘Trinayani’ co-star, with his last Instagram post dedicated to her. Reports suggest that the two actors were in a relationship.
In one poignant post, Chandrakanth wrote, “Papa netho digina last pic raa (cry emojis) not able to digest to left me alone, okasari mama aniii piluveee plsss @pavithrajayaram_chandar. My Pavi is no more (cry and pray emojis) pls ra come back plsss. (This is the last picture I took with you, I’m unable to digest you left me alone. Please call out for me once again. My Pavi is no more, please come back).” His Instagram stories also reflected his anguish, pleading, “Papa pls come back raaa. Pls nee mama kannilu aaplu. (Please come back and wipe my tears.)”
The sudden loss of both Chandrakanth and Pavithra has sent shockwaves through the Telugu entertainment industry, leaving colleagues and fans in disbelief and mourning.
