Raghopur, 15th Oct: RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Wednesday filed his nomination papers from the Raghopur assembly constituency in Vaishali district, seeking a third consecutive victory from the seat once represented by both his parents, Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi, who each served as Chief Minister of Bihar.
The 35-year-old leader reached the collectorate in Hajipur, accompanied by his parents, sister and Patliputra MP Misa Bharti, and Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Yadav. His arrival turned into a massive show of strength, as hundreds of RJD supporters lined the route from Patna to Hajipur, showering flower petals on the car carrying the Yadav family.
At the collectorate, security forces struggled to manage the enthusiastic crowd as Tejashwi stepped out to file his papers. His father, Lalu Prasad, arrived in a wheelchair, drawing cheers from supporters who view the family’s political legacy in Raghopur as symbolic of the party’s identity.
The Raghopur seat has long been considered an RJD stronghold, and Yadav’s re-election bid comes amid the party’s push for a political comeback after two decades out of power.
