Tejashwi to Impose Sharia Law if Elected CM: Acharya Krishnam

Patna/New Delhi, 27th Oct: As Bihar gears up for its Assembly elections, political tensions are escalating with just days left for voting. Former Congress leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam has sparked controversy with a sharp attack on RJD leader and Mahagathbandhan’s Chief Ministerial candidate, Tejashwi Yadav.

In a provocative statement, Krishnam alleged that Tejashwi Yadav has “made his intentions clear” and would implement Sharia law if elected Chief Minister. “Tejashwi Yadav seems to have forgotten that Chief Ministers are chosen by the people, not just declared by parties. He has shown his mindset—if he becomes CM, there will be no issue of Waqf law, because he will bring Sharia law to Bihar,” Krishnam said.

Meanwhile, Tejashwi Yadav hit back, taking a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi ahead of his upcoming Bihar visit for election campaigning. Addressing the media in Patna on Sunday, Yadav accused the Prime Minister of “betraying Bihar.”

“Everyone knows he’s coming to deceive Bihar again. Visits and rallies won’t change the ground reality,” Tejashwi remarked, adding that the people of the state will seek accountability from the BJP government.

Raising questions about Modi’s development record, Tejashwi demanded transparency in central allocations to Bihar. “We only want to know what you have given Gujarat in 11 years and what you have given Bihar. Just show us the figures,” he said.

According to BJP’s Bihar unit president Dilip Jaiswal, Prime Minister Modi will visit Bihar on October 30 to address election rallies in Muzaffarpur and Chhapra.

The Bihar Assembly elections will be held in two phases — on November 6 and November 11, with results to be declared on November 14, 2025.
