Pune, 3rd June.
In the aftermath of the tragic Porsche crash in Pune, where two 24-year-old engineers lost their lives, new details have emerged regarding the involvement of the 17-year-old driver. According to sources close to the investigation, the teen, now under observation in an observation home as the Juvenile Justice Board deliberates on trying him as an adult, has claimed an inability to remember the events of that fateful night due to intoxication.

The teen, captured on camera consuming alcohol shortly before the accident, allegedly spent a staggering ₹48,000 at a pub. Despite the evidence against him, during police interrogation, he has professed a lack of recollection of the incident. Moreover, efforts are underway to retrieve the original blood sample of the minor, amidst suspicions of tampering to exonerate him.

The investigation has uncovered an intricate plot aimed at shielding the accused teen, resulting in multiple FIRs being filed. These include charges related to the accident itself, serving alcohol to a minor, and negligence on the part of the boy’s father, a prominent realtor, for permitting him to drive without a license. Furthermore, separate cases have been registered against the teen’s parents and grandfather for their alleged involvement in attempting to destroy evidence and coerce others into taking the blame.

Shockingly, two doctors from the state-run Sassoon Hospital, including the head of the forensic department, have been arrested for allegedly manipulating blood samples to falsify the report. The boy’s family members have also been apprehended for their role in the cover-up. Notably, the teen’s mother, whose sample was allegedly substituted for her son’s, has denied any wrongdoing and claims the hospital took her sample without proper explanation.

The incident, which claimed the lives of software engineers Ashwini Kostha and Aneesh Awadhiya, sparked national outrage, particularly after the teen was granted bail within 15 hours under conditions perceived as inadequate. Subsequently, the Juvenile Justice Board revisited its decision and remanded him to an observation home.
