New Delhi, 12th Sept: A 15-year-old schoolgirl was allegedly attacked with a blade by a group of teenage girls in Delhi’s Rohini area, police said on Thursday.

According to investigators, the assault occurred on September 9 when four girls, aged between 14 and 16, confronted the victim near her school. The attackers, friends of two sisters, first slapped her before one girl slashed her face and back with a blade.

Preliminary inquiry revealed the motive was revenge for a quarrel on September 4 between the victim and one of the sisters, who studies in the same school. Police said the sisters enlisted their friends from another school to carry out the planned attack.

The injured girl was taken to a local hospital and is recovering. Police have registered a case under relevant sections of the IPC and the Juvenile Justice Act.
