Goel. Major General Suresh Khajuria,Punjab President Vidya Bharti was present on the occasion along with Mr Rezwan Ahmed who acted as rapporteur.
Prof. Goel emphasized that teachers as innovators are the torchbearers of transformation in the 21st century and must evolve from mere information transmitters to mentors of humanity.
He redefined Bharat as a knowledge-seeking nation—where “Bha” means knowledge and “rat” means seeker—calling for education that cultivates curiosity, conscience, and creativity.
While appreciating the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 as necessary, Prof. Goel stressed it remains insufficient without Needonomics, which integrates moral, spiritual, and value-based learning.
He highlighted the importance of Needo-education to bridge the gap between learning, employment, and entrepreneurship, promoting competence with character.
Drawing from the Gita-guided philosophy of “Yogakshemam Vahamyaham” (“Your welfare is our responsibility”), he urged teachers to adopt Needo-teaching that balances spirituality with materialism, and transforms students into responsible global citizens under the ethos of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (the world is one family).
Concluding his address, Prof. Goel called upon teachers to be street SMART—Simple, Moral, Action-oriented, Responsive, and Transparent—to turn classrooms into centers of consciousness and education into a pathway from literacy to life values in Bharat’s pursuit of Viksit Bharat @2047.
