Tamil Nadu CM M K Stalin Files Nomination for DMK President’s Post

Chennai, 8th Oct. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin filed his nomination papers to run for president of the ruling DMK on Friday, kicking off the intra-party election.

Stalin, who paid a visit to Anna Arivalayam, the party’s headquarters here, submitted his papers for the key position, which he is expected to win unopposed at the party’s general council meeting on October 9.

Several senior leaders were present when the Chief Minister filed his papers, including the party’s general secretary and State Minister Duraimurugan, treasurer T R Baalu, parliamentarians Kanimozhi and A Raja, and DMK youth wing secretary and legislator Udhayandhi Stalin.

Before arriving at Anna Arivalayam, Stalin paid tribute to late Chief Ministers C N Annadurai and M Karunanidhi.
