Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati Dies at 99, PM Modi Pays Condolences

Narsinghpur, 12th September. Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati, Shankaracharya of Jyotishpeeth, died at the age of 99 in Narsinghpur, Madhya Pradesh on Sunday.

He died at Narsinghpur district’s Shridham of MP after a long illness.

Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati died of a minor heart attack, according to reports. He died on Sunday at 3:50 p.m. in the ashram (Sunday, September 11).

Shankaracharya Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati’s funeral will be held on Monday (September 12).

He was born on September 2, 1924.

Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati was appointed Shankaracharya of Dwarka Sharada Peetham in Dwaraka, Gujarat, and the Jyotir Math in Badrinath in 1982.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences on the religious leader’s death. He tweeted, “Deeply saddened by the demise of Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati, Shankaracharya of Dwarka Sharda Peeth. My condolences to his followers in this time of grief.”

Union Home Minister Amit Shah expressed his condolences and said, “Received the sad news of the demise of Shankaracharya Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati ji of Dwarka Sharda Peeth. His work dedicated to the propagation of Sanatan culture and religion will always be remembered. I express my condolences to his followers. God bless the departed soul. peace.”
