Stipend Increased in Government Medical Colleges of Uttarakhand, Revised Order Issued

Dehradun, 25th Aug. Now MBBS intern doctors of medical colleges in Uttarakhand will be given a stipend of Rs 17,000. Till now they were getting Rs 7500. Revised orders have also been issued in this regard. Let us tell you that the stipend of intern doctors has not been increased for the last 11 years.
Interns of three government medical colleges of Uttarakhand were protesting for several days demanding an increase in stipend. They said that they get the lowest stipend of Rs 7500 in the country which has not increased in the last 11 years.
In other states, there is a stipend of 12 to 17 thousand rupees, whereas in the hospitals of the center, 23 and a half thousand rupees. The High Court, while hearing a petition, had asked the government to consider increasing the stipend of intern doctors. On this, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had announced to increase the stipend of interns from Rs 7500 to Rs 17,000 per month.
Now the stipend has been amended to 17 thousand. However the increase is only for government medical colleges. Private medical college interns are still getting Rs 4975 only. In such a situation, they are demanding to implement this order in private colleges also.
